JAPANESE SHORT FORM POETRY (Currently Open to Submissions) Lyrical Passion Poetry E-Zine welcomes novice writers and award winning writers. If interested in submitting haiku, senryu, kyoka, tan renga, haibun or tanka poetry, are encouraged to familiarize themselves as much as possible with the poetic art form and its history by reading contemporary literary journals that publish haiku, tanka and other important historical content. You can through browse our website and click on our pictures to see where they take you! Send up to 10 unpublished traditional, free format or experimental haiku, haibun, haiga, senryu, tanka, cinquain or tan renga per email submission. 2 haibun per submission. We do not charge reading fees. We will consider previously published haiku, senryu, tanka and tan renga. We seek vivid, lasting images that bring readers back. We will also consider German/English translated works as long as the entire submission is your original work. Multiple submissions are fine but we shy away from simultaneous submissions. Please indicate whether your submission is previously published or simultaneously submitted. Please email us immediately if your works are accepted elsewhere. Don't forget to include your contact information. Beginning 2011, all haiku and tanka poems published in Lyrical Passion Poetry E-Zine will automatically qualify our annual "Best of the Best" Poetry Award for Japanese short form poetry (Haiku & Tanka categories). The prize will be $50.00 US. Upon entering any of our poetry competitions, you are confirming that you have read and agree to our rules and guidelines. You are also confirming that you are submitting your own original and exclusive work. We will not accept work simultaneously entered in other competitions or publications. If we find that any entrant does not comply with our rules, they will be disqualified and will no longer be welcomed to submit to any of our writing contests.	PROSE POETRY - FREE VERSE - RHYMING POETRY (Currently Open to Submissions) Submit previously unpublished poetry that is powerful and thought-provoking. We do not charge reading fees. We accept submissions on a rolling basis and will consider simultaneous submissions; 8-40 lines per poem. Send up to 5 poems of free verse, prose poetry or rhyme (rhyming poems must be strong). We evaluate poetry on various levels including the skillful use of poetic craft; the ability to hold the interest of readers and a writer's ability to incorporate layers of meaning. Quite simply, what we feel is best, we publish. We do not want vulgar, trite or dark poetry. All entries must be in English- no translations.
